Iron ore, where it contains economically usable iron, is called iron ore. There are many types of iron ore, and the main ones used in ironmaking are magnetite (Fe3O4), hematite (Fe2O3) and rhombite (FeCO3). After the iron ore sample is dissolved in hydrochloric acid, the iron in it is converted to Fe3+. Under strongly acidic conditions, Fe3+ can be reduced to Fe2+ by SnCl2. After Sn2+ has completed the reduction of Fe3+, the methyl orange can also be reduced to hydrogenated methyl orange by Sn2+ and faded, so the methyl orange can indicate the end point of Fe3+ reduction. Sn2+ also continues to reduce hydrogenated methyl oranges to N, N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine and sodium p-aminobenzenesulfonate.

Taste Requirements

The grade of iron ore refers to the mass fraction of iron in iron ore, which is colloquially speaking iron content.

For example, iron ore has a grade of 62, which means that the mass fraction of iron is 62%;

For hematite (the main component is Fe2O3), the theoretical grade is 70%;

For magnetite (the main component is Fe3O4), the theoretical grade is 72.4%;

For rhodochroite (the main component is FeCO3), the theoretical grade was 48.3%;

For limonite (the main component is Fe2O3.H2O), the theoretical grade is 62.9%.

Iron Ore Dressing In China

Iron ore is an important raw material for steel production enterprises, and generally less than 50% grade iron ore needs to be smelted and utilized through ore dressing. Natural ore (iron ore) is gradually selected for iron through crushing, grinding, magnetic separation, flotation, re-separation and other procedures.

In view of the characteristics of China's iron ore existence and the higher requirements of the steel industry for iron ore concentrate, it has put forward new challenges for Chinese mineral processing workers.
